In the last two years, digital transformation and hyper-automation have gained an immense amount of traction as enterprises begin to implement technologies such as RPA, and AI. Enterprises across multitude of industries are leveraging hyper-automation to improve not only the customer experience but also employee experience.

Tops 3 Automation Trends for 2022

As mentioned by Gartner in a recent survey, more than 80% of organizations say they will continue or increase their automation spending in 2022.

1. CIOs will take the reins on automation. By many enterprises, CIOs are being called to deliver on these mandates. This coming year, they will focus on critical issues such as

  • What automation technology to standardize
  • What organizational capabilities need to be built out
  • How to best ensure good governance, security, and quality
  • How automation will support revenue growth

2. RPA wins over other technologies

RPA is said to win over BPA, iPaaS, LCAP, and AI. Why? RPA adoption continues to grow and leads in UI automation, which is crucial for many processes. RPA also incorporates critical functionalities like governance, low-code/no-code build environments, and support for scalability.

3. Automation Increases Productivity Amongst Enterprises

Did you know that large enterprises have over an average of 170 applications employees must bounce between to get work done? That is a huge amount of time in a day that employees spend doing "swivel-chair" work, which lowers productivity and employee morale. This year, we will see enterprises adding an "automation layer" to the top of their applications.

Future Predictions

From Gartner

  • By year-end 2025, over half of the world's population will be subject to at least one internet of behaviors (IoB) program (private, commercial, or governmental).
  • By 2025, 40% of physical experience-based businesses will improve financial results and outperform competitors by extending into paid virtual experiences.
  • By 2024, organizations with IT teams that understand customer needs will outperform other organizations' customer experience metrics by 20%.
  • By 2023, 40% of all enterprise workloads will be deployed in cloud infrastructure and platform services, up from 20% in 2020.

With Digital Transformation emerging, enterprises will need to maintain a level of digital processes to keep a competitive advantage.
